Germany’s Cycle Sales Fall Nearly 18% in 2009

Two-wheeler sales in Germany last year totaled 137,045 units, down 17.58 percent compared to 166,282 units in 2008, according to figures compiled by the German Motorcycle Industry Association (IVM).

Motorcycle sales totaled 99,835 units, down compared to 121,411 units in 2008; scooter sales totaled 37,210 units, down compared to 44,871 units.

Honda, Yamaha and BMW were the market share leaders. Honda sold 19,577 units in 2009, down compared to 26,664 units in 2008; Yamaha sold 16,328 units, down compared to 19,652 units; and BMW sold 15,843 units, down compared to 18,121 units.

BMW F 650 GS … 1,450 units
